Hartlepool’s memorial is having a facelift

The second stage of work has just started on the Grade II memorial in Hartlepool. Having had a good clean to remove grime and moss, the steps and paving around the memorial are now being levelled and reset. The drainage will be improved and cables under the monument will be repaired so that it can be illuminated again.

The work is expected to take seven weeks with the intention that the memorial is ready for the Remembrance Day service on the 9th November.
