A memorial to First and Second World War casualties from Churchtown on the Isle of Man has been vansalised.  The tall cross features a marble figure of a First World War serviceman with his rifle reversed.  The rifle was broken off and shattered.  Police are appealing for any information. Another attempted theft of bronze plaques took place around the same time I was reporting on a man charged with the theft of a memorial plaque from a church in Middlesbrough.
